Ginger is an important ingredient in Asian cooking. It can be a spice, a beverage,  a vegetable, and even a candy. Ginger tea is used to treat colds and nausea. Human studies show that ginger relieves motion sickness and morning sickness. There is no real dividing line between foods and medicinal plants. A food, like ginger, can also be a useful medicine.

In India, ginger is used in special foods for pregnant and nursing women.
