On June 15, 1859, Missouri Botanical Garden founder Henry Shaw opened the Garden to the public, making it the oldest botanical garden in continuous operation
in the nation. In 2009, the Garden observes our 150th anniversary,
or sesquicentennial. Join us throughout the year as we celebrate our heritage and look forward to the next 150 years.
